A Legend and a Myth

THE BRIEF: Twofour54, the UAE’s leading media and entertainment production company, sought to create an original, unique, and captivating Arabic short film. The film was envisioned as a hybrid mythical tale that would beautifully narrate the story of the late HH Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, depicting his journey in uniting the people on one land. This narrative would highlight the dynamic history of the UAE, showcasing how the nation was built through the unwavering commitment and visionary leadership of Sheikh Zayed.

THE TREATMENT: Blink Studios produced "Ostora," a 3D stereoscopic musical animation written by Emirati scriptwriter Faisal Al Sharyani and directed by Hani Kichi. Supported by twofour54’s creative lab, "Ostora" is the first Arabic musical animated 3D film that blends the history of the UAE with Ancient Greek mythology. It won the Special Picture prize at the 3D Korea International Short Film Festival and has received 35 international film nominations.
